OUR GOD IS ABLE

                                                         OUR GOD IS ABLE

What is ability?
Ability is the function of having sufficiency of Power, Skill and resources to accomplish a task. Therefore when we say that God is able it could imply that He has:
The power to accomplish a task that has been committed to him and that he desires to accomplish.
The skill to accomplish such task and
The resources required to accomplish the task

God being the designer and the creator of everything from the inception has the inbuilt ability in Him to do just anything we can imagine or think of (Gen. 1 :1). Power is the ability to perform. Those who possess power do not use it just to benefit themselves alone but to make impact in the life of other people. This impact could either be negative or positive.
The impact they make in your life could be negative if you find or place yourself in the group of the antagonist and rebellious, it could be positive if you find or place yourself in the camp of friends and supporters. It is unfortunate though that some people without making a choice to be have found themselves on the negative side of the exercise of negative power while some other that we consider fortunate have found themselves at the positive side. The good thing however is that cross carpeting is allowed for anyone who does not like where he has found himself. Ps. 62:11-12
God has spoken once; twice have I heard this:
That power belongeth unto God.
Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy:
For thou renderest to every man according to his work.
Our God, the benevolent one has the power to do the following for you if you are willing to ask Him for help:
He can use His power to do whatever you are asking from Him.
He can use His power to deliver you from the snare of the Fowler
He can use His power to deliver you from other powers holding you hostage
He can use his power to reach you even if you are kept incommunicado.
He can use His power to pull down all forms of barriers.
He can use his power to make ways in the waters and in the wilderness.
You can take advantage of all that is available that God’s power can do for you by just simply asking him.( Matthew 7:7) ” Ask, it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find: knock, and it shall be opened unto you”

There are other things that power cannot do but which dexterity and skill can. At times we have discovered that there things one may want to do and that can be done without the use of force. Power does not make a footballer score a goal but skill and dexterity may do. A very skilful person can outshine a person who has much power without skill. Another word for skill is knowledge. God is wise and knows how to apply knowledge correctly. To the ordinary mind when God performs miracles with skill they usually call it magic because they see great performance without any exercise of physical or mechanical power. There are instances in the bible where God demonstrated his skill:
He turned bitter water to sweet by throwing into it a branch of a tree which instantly killed all the germs and bacterial in it.
He made iron to swim up and float thereby suspending the laws of gravity by using the law of exchange.
He purified a foul river by pouring salt at its source
He made Noa to speak the language that animals understood that they obeyed him to enter the ark.
He created two different times at the same time. The pillar of cloud and of fire to prevent the Egyptians catching up with the escaping Israelites. He simply used lighting effects.
He caused a fierce wind to blow and divided the Red Sea into two. That may be described as the second tsunami.
He slowed down the time to allow Joshua to finish the battles against the enemy.
He has the skill to reveal secrets. He revealed to Elisha what Gehazi had discussed with Naaman and to Peter the hidden truth about the land transaction. He simply used unseen wireless camera.
These might have been the reason why Job said: (Job. 36:5) Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and in wisdom.
God combines both wisdom and power in his ability.

The third point about God’s ability is that he also has the resources to use in the performance of any task giving to Him or that he wished to perform. A man may be powerful, full of skill but may lack the resources to perform. This is one of the greatest problems we are facing in the world today. Many scientists would have performed wonders if they had the resources to do so. When a doctor discover a patient is sick and would need a replacement of certain body parts or organs and they are not available, what else can he do? There are some other times that the material required to perform may be available in the market but there is no money to purchase it.
However, God is not limited in this respect. He designed all things, made all things and keeps everything in existence. Acts 17:28 ” for in him we live and move and have our being…”
“For every beast of the forest is mine, and a cattle upon a thousand hills
I know the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beast of the field are mine.
If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine and the fullness thereof”
(Ps. 50:10-11)
You may want to ask me why all these explanation about God’s ability. It is for no other reason than to let you know that God is able to do for you what you cannot do for your self. He has the power, the skill and the resources to meet you at the very point of your need.
Hebrew 7;25 says that God is able to save you to the end
Daniel. 3:17. He is able to deliver you from the fiery furnace
Jeremiah. 32:27. is there anything too had for God?
It is my prayer for you that this year God’s ability will overcome your inability. he will make you a sign and wonder and His joy shall fill your heart.
God bless you.
